Why Storytelling in Music Matters More Than Ever w/ Eric Karsenty

Podcast · July 21, 2025

In this Podcast interview, Bridge the Gap founder and CEO Eric Karsenty explores how DIY musicians can use storytelling in music to amplify their impact and build a narrative that resonates.

Before telling you about my interview my Eric, I need to share one thing with you.

I never believed in the statement:

The music industry is saturated

And I’ll tell you more.

I don’t believe the music industry can ever be saturated.

A 2023 study by Luminate shows that over 120,000 new tracks are uploaded to streaming platforms every single day.

I believe that this isn’t a sign of oversaturation; it’s a sign of abundance.

Let me ask you this.

Is the market truly overwhelmed with diverse, unique individual stories from artists and musicians?

The answer is probably no.

Why? Because artistic expression is limitless.

No two artists have the same creative identities and gifted expression.

No two artists have the same story.

And that’s what makes your art meaningful.

Now, I want you to keep one thing in mind.

Think of it as a mantra.

Whether you like it or not, your story is just as important as your music.

Exactly why I’m very grateful for Eric accepting my invitation to talk about the crucial role of storytelling in music, showcasing your art with your prospective fans.
