In this episode, I’m joined by British pianist, composer and educator Joe Webb.
Originally from Wales and now based in London, Joe has become one of the most exciting voices on the U.K. jazz scene.
As a pianist and composer, he’s known not just for his musicianship, but for the energy and presence he brings to the stage – something that feels closer to a rock show than a traditional jazz set.
Since moving to London in 2013, he’s built a strong reputation across the scene, performing regularly around Europe and at iconic venues like Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Royal Albert Hall, Dizzy’s Club, KOKO, and Centro Cultural de Belém.
What I find really interesting about Joe is the way he blends deep piano tradition with a bold, modern identity.
Something that feels entirely his own.
We met over Zoom for an honest conversation about what it takes to become the musician you want to be.
And I must say…I loved this one!

In Conversation with Joe Webb
My conversation with Joe explores the real journey of becoming the musician you want to be.
We talk about Joe’s early connection with jazz and how he’s grown into one of the most distinctive voices on today’s scene.
Furthermore, we explore the less visible side of a musician’s journey – the importance of building the right relationships and long-term thinking.
We also dive into Joe’s latest album Neath Beat, featuring Will Sach and Sam Jesson, and what it represents at this stage in his career.
At the heart of this conversation is a simple but powerful idea: who you become along the way matters more than the outcome.
If you’re a musician trying to build something meaningful, there’s a lot in here for you!
