In this episode, I share with you the great chat I had with Bénédict Berna, the owner of Rhinoçéros, an intimate Jazz Bar in Berlin you must discover.
I’ve already spoken about Rhinoçéros in my first episode of the podcast Five best music bars in Berlin. Still, today we are going to discover it more in-depth with Bénédict – Béné for friends – owner and founder of this gem in Prenzlauer Berg.
Bénédict opened the bar in November 2017 with Martina, his wife, and they created a spot dedicated to the highest quality of sound, wines and drinks.
Then Bénédict’s passion for music is ever-present; Rhinoçéros has a dedicated music corner consisting of a vintage sound system, a record player, and a vinyl collection.
Moreover, the real inspiration for Rhinoçéros is Japanese Jazz Kissa – small jazz cafés that function as listening rooms.
At Rhinoçéros, you can find regular vinyl listening sessions such as – Astra Travelling focusing on spiritual Jazz, No Room For Squares, dedicated to genre-defying records, – DJ events, exhibition and sometimes intimate live concerts.
Last week I met Bénédict right at Rhinoçéros, and we talked about Rhinoçéros Jazz Bar in Berlin and much more.
