Today, we will talk about five of the best record shops in Berlin. If you’re a DJ, a record lover, or you like digging for records surrounding music in a Record Shop, this episode is definitely for you.
I have to say that Berlin’s record culture is much alive.
I felt that record shops in Berlin have always had a certain appeal for DJs and music lovers worldwide, and it still is.
Musical genres range from soul, funk and jazz to indie dance, house, and techno music, but also you can find specific record shops that are dedicated more to some genres with an extensive selection.
One of the things that captured me more is their diversity: I’m talking about the environment you can find inside and their freedom in giving you space to enjoy and listen to music. This transformed record shops into places for listening sessions, release parties and live exhibitions.
Berlin has lots of record shops around the city, especially on the east side – where you can breathe the history and spirit of this town – are located some of the most interesting to visit.

Here are my 5 of the best record shops to discover in Berlin
04:00 OYE KREUZKÖELLN
The “little sister” of OYE Record Store in Prenzlauer Berg.
Here, you can find a great selection of house, disco, and boogie with a great variety of electronic records and great in-store sessions, usually once a month: a mix of live performances and DJ sets.
06:28 HARD WAX
A legendary spot is located in an old factory building behind the canal in Kreuzberg near KottbusserTor station.
The shop is specialized in Techno, Dub, Elettronica and House, and you can also find some white labels that you probably cannot find anywhere else.
08:24 MUTING THE NOISE
Muting the noise is not only a record shop but also an event location and art space run by Innervisions an electronic music label founded by Dixon and Âme.
The shop offers a great selection of house and techno labels and books. It’s only open to the public Thursdays from 4 Pm to 8 Pm
11:00 MELTING POINT
Melting point is a great record store with a brilliant selection from disco, soul, and funk to house, reggae & rock. There is also an extensive selection of 2nd hand house records available, so if you are a house/disco DJ, you could find some records here that you have been looking for.
12:21 SOUL TRADE
The shop is located in Kreuzkölln and has a beautiful selection of soul, funk, jazz reissues, disco, boogie, Afro-Latin, hip-hop, house, garage and offers an impressive selection of specialist books, music literature and music biographies.
