In today’s episode, I have the pleasure of discussing Berlin Club Culture & Detroit with Marie Staggat.
Marie is a Berlin-based photographer with a spiritual connection to Detroit and all the artists who grew up in the city. Above all, the love for Detroit started at Tresor meeting the biggest names in the Techno world and becoming closer to that sound.
“I think what fascinates me the most are the people behind that scene. It’s all about sound. It’s inspiring.”

In 2010, she decided to go there and experience the vibe and energy of Detroit’s underground music scene. She immediately fell in love with it and started taking pictures. In all this, her talent to capture the essence of iconic figures in the world of music brought her to publish her first book, 313ONELOVE.

With the same passion and love for supporting Berlin Club Culture, in 2010, she decided to start a book project with Journalist Timo Stein called HUSH. The book documents Berlin’s nightlife in a time of silence. In today’s interview, Marie talks about her biggest passions, Detroit and Berlin’s empty clubs in the pandemic era.
